I like the design and the format. Says absolutely nothing but that's what I can say so far. I haven't made use of it other than the forums, but there's lots of alternatives and I think it'll do lots of people good. |

No offense, but it could be much better. I don't really like the theme, but that's just my opinion. There are a few things you could actually integrate into the site, like the Distressed Watcher videos, and his Tumblr, instead of just linking to them. That Guy With The Glasses.com uses blip.tv for video hosting, and I'm pretty sure you can embed the videos the same way you embed YouTube videos, but the auto-updating Videos page (I really like that, by the way) is probably a plugin (if it's not, I apologize for dishonoring your wizardry), and you'd have to do it manually, which would be a pain in the ass. You could edit the HTML of his Tumblr to match the site. You could also put auto-updating Videos pages for TJDoesLife and TheAmazingTerroja (if it's OK with TJ and whoever runs that channel, of course :P). Also, I recommend switching the forum software from Zetaboards to phpBB. It's harder to install, but it's open-source, so you can mess with anything you want to, you can integrate it into the main site, and you don't have to use a subdomain. The site's coming along nicely, though, I like the idea of TJ having an official website. I also love that pig favicon. Edited by Babkock, 2 Jul 2011, 11:49 PM.

ThatFatAtheist is really meant to serve as a hub for TJ on the web, a bit of a centralization of his web presence. That's why it links out to his YouTube, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, BlogTV, and TGWTG pages. The forum is connected but also separate; it's basically a TJ-endorsed fan community that has little to do with the actual ThatFatAtheist.com site. Plus, we're almost to 4000 posts and there is no easy way to grab all the posts and members from ZetaBoards; they're locked with the software. However, ZetaBoards is extremely dependable and I would trust and recommend them with anyone needing a forum, even if it is at the cost of site integration (which isn't needed for ThatFatAtheist.com because, again, it's a hub and not a site for actual content). I actually kinda want to rework his site into less of a standard webpage and more of a centric, multi-dimensional page that would act and look as more of a hub and look less like a site that is supposed to have actual content on it. That's a future project, I guess, on my own; I'm only getting paid for this design.  I think I might ask TJ if he'd like me to make a Tumblr theme based off it, that's a good idea. I might also try to work part of it into a ZetaBoards theme, but I like this theme that we have here (also developing ZetaBoards themes is a pain in the ass). |

Yeah, it does look really blank, like something is supposed to be there. Maybe people will get a better idea if it was more stipped-down. Also, I noticed Inmendham bought theamazingatheist.com. That's pretty fucking shallow. |

Layout is kinda cool, but I personally tend to prefer somewhat lighter colors for a place I'd regularly return to. Does the site have some "customize" options by any chance? |

I know this one php fella who's a real wiz at what he's doing. He can design a web-forum in his sleep. The guy is an expert to say the least. And this work is on the same level, so, from my past experiences: Well done. I mean, I've seen the designs of those giant forums made by so-called professionals. They're pretty bland compared to the work of people who knows what they're doing. Look at Facepunch or The Nexus, it's slower, it has a clumsier design, and only half the features. It's refreshing to see someone who knows what they're doing. Also: You guys don't ban people for swearing, it really drives me up the wall when people do that. |
