Anyone here engage their Pocket Monsters in heated battle against one-another? Not to brag, but I'm something of a Pokemon Master, myself

I really hope they release R/G/B/Y/G/S/C on the 3DS' virtual console. That would be beyond awesome. While I like Black and White, the classics hold unlimited re-playability to me. I just do not get bored with them, especially Yellow and Crystal. |

I'm hardcore on the 1st generation, 2nd was ok too but I think now (or after Johto) it's getting too much.

Which version? I take it you're not talking about Yellow... If it's R/B, Bulbasaur is boss. Razor leaf, once you hit a certain level, will almost always gets critical hits (this was determined by a pokemon's speed in GenI) If G/S/C, Totodile. I never got in to Pokemon the way all the other kids did. At one point I had quit a lot of cards, but I just gave them away to a bunch of my friends on the block. |

Pokemon is a fucking amazing game. I have been playing since I was five. I cannot remember life without Pokemon. I used to battle a lot on Shoddy during the D/P era, too, and EV train my Pokemon. I was so proud of my old Blissey... I haven't competitive battled for ages now, but I still play the games as ardently as ever. B/W are awesome. Screw the old-schoolers, though, the best Pokemon games are always the most recent ones - I mean, they're basically the same thing but with added goodies and features, and the new Pokemon are always more detailed as the graphical restrictions become less of a problem for the designers, which is awesome. I have a special place in my heart for first and second gen because of nostalgia, but that nostalgic value has grown up with me, so now even the thought of third gen warms the cockles of my heart in that same way only the older games would. Oddly, although I like to import visual novels and Japan-only games like Sakura Taisen, Kanon and the Lucky Star dating sim, I've never bothered with Pokemon. I guess I have no motivation to get a game that is inevitably going to come out in Europe one way or the other. Oh, and my favourite Pokemon is and always will be
