You can't just stop being gay (unless you bring up the nature vs. nature argument) so he's probably struggling a lot inside. He's been completely brainwashed into thinking he's a terrible person and will rot in hell because he prefers to have sex with men rather than women. He seems very uneasy in the video. This is still magic - disguised with pseudo-philosophy, but still magic: an irrational action commited in order of getting some sort of supernatural gratitude.

Within the confines of the church, it makes perfect sense. God is real to him, presumably. Magic, rain dances and sacrifices of goats are not.

Also, God hates fags, he doesn't love them, like he says. 2) We presume objective reality exists. It cannot be 100% known (at least, for the moment). There must be ways to know it that are better than other ways. It's clear that the Bible (because of how it was written, its contradiction, its translation, how the priests voted for what to be in it and what not, because we don't know who wrote huge parts or when or where, because of it's logic, etc.) isn't the best way to know objective reality. See, if someone says objects fell, because of gravity and some other person says objects fell, because of God, (given the information we now have) the 2nd person is wrong, because there is much more evidence pointing to gravity than there is to God (the one in the Bible).
