Maybe your needs are NOT the precise needs of everybody else? And many people are technologically retarded, so if this helps them, then well done Steve Jobs, you've created a device that make peoples' lives easier. The utility of the device is subjective. I would never buy one since my computer use is happily sedentary. I have no pressing need for on the fly internet use, for example, so waiting until I can sit at the desktop and search all the things I need to suits me just fine.

I didn't see making the lives of technological retards easier as something to feel accomplished about, but hey, tomato tomato. Also I disagree that iPads are good due to the fact that given they are not user friendly in the slightet and that they are overpriced to shit. £399 or thereabouts for a smaller, shittier notebook laptop which can come in similar sizes and weights. Anybody with half a brain that is not biased towards Apple products can see that iPads are fucking fail pieces of shit technology.

But... but that's what almost all technological advancement boils down to... I haven't used many Apple products and I doubt I will in the future. The things I have used are excellent built-in video editing software, and an OS with nice visual effects. My friend is more than satisfied with his iPad and like I said, finds it useful (As in, not a hindrance due to UI issues or other things you mentioned.) Apple says the iPad weighs 1.44-1.46 lbs. I doubt there are many laptops lighter than that. Again, I'm not particularly enamoured with Apple, but the hate they get seems ridiculous at times. It's like Facebook or Justin Bieber or something, jeepers.
