These people apparently have a nearly completely different view of how society should be than "most" people, thus they're not really PC parrots, they're just trying to enforce their own beliefs.

That's what political correctness is: they try to enforce their own beliefs, by motherfucking changing the language and banning jokes about rape They don't represent the majority of society. Society does jokes about rape. Society uses words like: "policemen", "firemen", "black" and "white" for races, "blind", "deaf" and fucking "Christmas". Yes, saying Islam/Mormonism is anti-women and anti-gay is politically incorrect, by definition.

I disagree with being politically correct for the sake of being politically correct (so, I disagree with being PC about jokes, words -that list- and regarding "Mormons/Islam is anti-gay and anti-women"). I agree with what the US government is doing, for pragmatical reasons: not playing Al Qaida's game. As that article mentioned, "terrorist" or "violent extremist" are good enough and everyone understands what you are talking about. Change the language when you have real objectives, not when you're a whiny pussy.
