Dark Knight Rises; Who else saw this, who else loved this!?

:hello:

The Dark Knight Rises was the Epic conclusion to the Christopher Nolan Batman Trilogy. I went and saw the midnight screening, and even though it had it's minor issues, the movie itself did not disappoint. I thought that it was a great finale. Everybody in the theater gave the film, and the series a standing ovation at the end, and during the credits. What was everybody else's experiences, what were your problems with it, your opinions. Shoot!

It's a bit slow at the beginning, but once things get going, it became everything I expected and wanted. It's also the first of the Nolan Batman movies to actually elicit something of an emotional response in me. Not quite as intricately multi-layered or philosophical as The Dark Knight, but overall it's an excellent film and an excellent way to end the trilogy.

You know, triplock is kinda right. The dark knight wasn't that deep to be honest.

I guess the message of The Dark Knight was, in the most hopeless of times (The Joker), the only hope you have left (Harvey Dent) can kill you trust. Or Democracy, the purest of form of government, according to most Americans, can be destroyed and contaminated by chaos easily because madness, as you know, is like gravity; all it takes is a little push.
I say what The Dark Knight Rises lacked in that the previous two had, a clear tone. The Dark Knight Rises wasn't as deliciously dark as the other two.

Batman Begins: The mood-setting subject was fear, with the fearless Ra's al Ghul as the main villain with The Scarecrow as the minor villain.

The Dark Knight: The Mood-setting subject was chaos and anarchy, with the man without-a-plan, The Joker, as the main villain, and the incorruptible corrupt DA of Gotham City, Harvey "Two-Face" Dent as the minor villain.

The Dark Knight Rises: ??? (Bane? Talia al Ghul?)

The messege of the Dark Knight, is that self proclaimed arch-demon of chaos and anarchy, (who at some point ponders why nobody worries when things go according to plan, no matter how terrible the plan) does all that he does(bank robbery, rigging ferries with explosives etc.) by meticulus planning in advance.
If you try to analyze it, it's obvious from ideological incositencies between Joker's stated beliefs and his actual actions, that just like in every other action movie, the writers threw in some bullshit lines to seem cool, regardless of how relevant to the story they are.

Which apparently makes it a pinnacle of philosophy for the libertarian sophistos... :D

No, seriously - I really start hating how people are deeply analyzing these Batman movies and their "deep and complex story": it's a fucking Batman, a comic book hero. He's not questioning the human nature, he's not trying to solve the question of what is good and what is bad, he fights crime by punching people in the face - that's all the complexity you're gonna get.

Comes from a comic book? No room for depth, period!

Once again, Yar, you're an idiot.
